That was a steep damn hill. It took an hour and a half to get down to where the road gets to the other side of the lake, which is where our ride picked us up. And a good thing- we heard later that the mountain on the other side of the lakes was AWFUL.

All the sheep and cattle had adorable lambs and calves. We never got tired of the cute.

As of today, we are done with this part of our hiking trip. It doesn’t look nearly as impressive in this photo as in real life, but we came over the pass that is flat at the bottom, and it was damn steep coming down. The water to the right is Cloonee Lough Lower.

Much of today’s hike was on lanes like this. The day started out sunny but was overcast by noon or so, which was when we started climbing, so that worked out well!

Yesterday was so hot and gorgeous that I actually got a touch of sunburn. In IRELAND, land of mist and fog. Go figure.

And a civilized cuppa while we wait for Sheila, our hostess, to come get us.
