Margaret says that instead of crows, Ireland has rooks, close but not the same.
It was Sunday, and our dinner choices were limited, but a couple of people recommended Murphy’s. Dinner was good, but omg the desserts! The cheesecake was almost like mousse, very light. And malteasers are what we call malted milk balls.
This standing stone is exactly in the middle of the island.
When we were hiking yesterday I stepped on the edge of the trail…only there was no trail there. My foot slipped down the edge of the hill, and suddenly my left arm and leg were in a gorse bush. These made me laugh.
We took a fifteen-minute boat ride to Bere Island and hiked a bit; still tired from yesterday but unbowed. The day was beautiful, sunny and breezy with clouds sliding around like air hockey pucks. Having said that, it was still only about 60 degrees and I wore three shirts all day…
We stopped in a liquor store to buy postcards and stamps.
